Toho vs. Honda Lawsuit Settled

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that a trademark infringement lawsuit against American Honda Motor Co. by Toho Co., Ltd. has been settled:

We previously reported about a spot-the-infringement lawsuit by Toho over use of its trademarked and copyrighted character "Godzilla" in a Honda commercial. The case has been settled. Financial terms haven't been released, but we're told the commercial has been changed.


The lawsuit involved a Godzilla cameo, without Toho's permission, on Honda's Odyssey minivan. Godzilla's owner, Toho Co. Ltd., filed a complaint in early February.
