According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2014 is the Year of the Horse. It officially starts January 31, 2014 (the Lunar New Year/Spring Festival of China).
But most fans of a certain giant Japanese monster feel that 2014 will be the Year of the Godzilla, since the Legendary Pictures/Warner Bros. Godzilla will be released to theaters in May. By all indications, the producers seem be doing everything right (this time, Godzilla looks like Godzilla).
Funny thing, fans were saying the same thing back in 1998 when the TriStar debacle Godzilla was about to be released. But, due to the movie being a critical flop (although it did make over $300 million worldwide), that didn't pan out so well.
The upcoming movie has a better chance of making this the Year of the Godzilla. We'll see.
