Cleared Space

Above, where the painting will be hung. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Whew! I must have sweated off about 5 to 10 pounds moving a bookcase full of DVDs and VHS tapes (remember those?) to make wall space available for the portrait painting. The painting is 24" x 30".

Until one empties bookcase shelves, it is a little hard to believe just how many things are stored there.

I had to empty the bookcase and move some DVD and CD racks (that would have been another major chore, but it was made easier by having a hand cart available) to make the space. After the racks were moved and the bookshelf was re-filled, I then vacuumed the apartment.

While I was doing all this, I received a call from the framing shop. They said that the frame materials had to come from their Denver, Colorado facility and they should be in around 4:00 this afternoon. If so, the painting should be ready for pick-up by 6:00. The lady who called was filling in for someone and she just found out about the delay. I immediately let Asya know.

Apparently, the local Los Angeles facility was out of stock and they had to go to Denver for the frame materials. Nice that they did all this at the last minute.

It never fails.

UPDATE: The frame shop called about 45 minutes ago and said it will be completed in an hour.
