Goulding's Museum and John Wayne's Cabin

Following some maintenance work on The Beast, I decided to head a half mile down the road to the Goulding's Lodge area.

There, visitors will find a dining room, banquet room, lodge rooms, gift shop, convenience store, gas station, theater, swimming pool, museum and John Wayne's cabin from She Wore A Yellow Ribbon (1949).

I went into the museum where there is a restored trading post filled with antique items. In another room are Indian artifacts and vintage photographs.

In another room of the museum are movie memorabilia, including photographs, movie posters and a costume worn by Joanne Dru in She Wore A Yellow Ribbon.

From there, I headed over to the gift shop where authentic Indian arts and crafts, including pottery, rugs, jewelry and kachina dolls are available.

I picked up a couple of items while there.

Following the gift shop, I headed up the road a little bit to do some grocery shopping and then headed back to the campground. Thankfully, while it is still cold out, at least the winds died down.
