New Mexico Hit By Winter Storm

Right now, there is about three inches of the white stuff on the ground and it is snowing. I am lucky to get home from Phoenix since there's a lot of flight cancellations. I was concerned that my 7:45 flight last night would be canceled. Then, once we got off the ground, my concern changed to being possibly diverted.

According to KOB 4:
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A blizzard warning is in effect for the Albuquerque metro area and the surrounding areas.
The warning will be in effect through 6 a.m. Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service, moderate to heavy snow accumulations in the area will create treacherous traveling conditions including poor visibility due to the blowing snow. Officials are advising residents to stay off of the roads unless absolutely necessary.
For those planning to travel by plane, there are numerous delays and closures this morning.
Rio Metro is also experiencing delays Friday due to the wintry weather.
