R & R In Albuquerque

Right now, I am relaxing after a tasty prime rib dinner at the Thunder Road Steakhouse and Cantina at the Route 66 Casino Hotel. I am staying at the Route 66 RV Resort. It is one of those rare occasions these days when I allow myself to have beef.

I had been outside enjoying the view, but the winds out here decided to kick up and drove me inside. Oh, well.

I am in Albuquerque to take care of some business and to visit one of my Jamestown friends who is in the hospital. He had a coronary artery aneurysm fixed three weeks ago, but some nearby nerve(s) got traumatized and he is partially paralyzed from the waist down. So he's been undergoing physical therapy and has made some progress.

After all that is done, I will be heading back to Jamestown, which is only a nice hour and a half drive.

The temperature out here is currently 81° with some clouds, but windy.

Earlier, after I arrived and set up, I was relaxing outside with the awning fully deployed. This was the first time using it since I got a new awning fabric (it was too windy during the last two clampouts). When the gusts kicked up, I had to roll it up (it was easy as it is electric).

Also, I used for the first time my new John Wayne camping coffee mug that I bought from the John Wayne Stock & Supply Company. Portions of all purchases goes toward the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. I had my dad in mind when I bought it.
