Karl Malden Dies At 97

Actor Karl Malden, who won an Academy Award for his role in A Streetcar Named Desire, died of natural causes at his home in Brentwood. He was 97.

Malden is probably best remembered for his detective role in the 1970s television show, The Streets of San Francisco. He was also the pitchman for American Express for over 21 years with his "don't leave home without it" tagline.

Malden also portrayed General Omar Bradley in Patton, which starred George C. Scott in the title role.
