It appears that the firefighters may have the upper hand on the two fires (Ventura County's Springs Fire and the Glendale fire) as I just returned from the post office after mailing a stack of copies of The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan and detected no smoke odor or eye irritation.
It was a different story yesterday as smoke settled in the San Fernando Valley. We're also heading into a cooling trend.
