Great Britain Backed A-Bombings Against Japan, Records Show

This really shouldn't come as a surprise as Great Britain was a staunch ally against the Axis powers (Germany, Italy and Japan) during World War II.

Kyodo News reported:

Britain expressed support for the use of atomic bombs by the United States against Japan in World War II about a month before the first one was dropped on Hiroshima, documents recently declassified by the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration showed.

Great Britain expressed its support for the atomic bombings of Japan at a July 4, 1945 meeting of the Combined Policy Committee that was held in Washington, D.C., according to released documents.
