Japan To Grant Long-Stay Visas To Wealthy Visitors

Have any rich friends who want to spend some time in Japan?

According to an article in News On Japan, wealthy visitors will be granted special visas to stay in Japan up to a year.

They wrote:

Japan will open its doors wider to wealthy travelers from all over the world starting next April, allowing them to stay for up to one year on a special long-term visa. 

This special permit is for an extended stay of six months and is renewable once. They can renew it for another six-month stay.

But, they must be at least 60 years of age and there are other conditions that must be met.

Japan is hoping that these wealthy visitors will "share the wealth" in places like the Ginza shopping district.
