Homemade Teardrop Camper Trailer

Above, my grandmother cooking at the rear kitchen of the homemade
teardrop camper trailer my grandfather built in the 1940s.

RV123 and I became mutual followers on Twitter earlier today.

After doing so, I checked out their website and an article on a homemade teardrop camper caught my eye. The reason being was that my grandfather built a teardrop trailer back in the 1940s. He, my grandmother and mother spent summers out in the wilds with the trailer (mainly the desert) so he can gather rocks for his lapidary hobby. A photo of my grandfather's trailer is at top.

It is nice to see that people are still building teardrop trailers (some from scratch, others with plans that can be purchased). You can also buy teardrop campers, too.

The article contains several photographs of the trailer as it was being built and a link to the owner's blog showing the finished trailer.

The article states:
This homemade teardrop trailer was built by architect Rebecca Turner after she discovered that she was tired of the repetitiveness of her everyday job. With the help of her mechanical engineer husband, Rebecca was able to built a teardrop trailer from scratch. The vehicle was built on a 4 ft x 8 ft utility trailer with wall cuts. The interior of the trailer contains a full sized bed, gallery kitchen, a two burner propane stove, a small sink and more.
