The Los Angeles Times Travel section reported yesterday that airfares between Los Angeles and Tokyo have gone up since my March 2 report.
In my report, I posted that airfares between L.A. and Tokyo were (according to the Times Travel section of the day before) at $709 on the low end and $1,061 on the high end. These prices are before any fees or taxes added.
Yesterday, the Times reported that their survey found airfares were at $859 on the low end and $1,211 on the high end. Again, these prices do not include any fees or taxes.
It appears that these prices reflect tourist interest in visiting Japan when the cherry blossoms are in bloom and, possibly, the Golden Week holidays.
The next airfare report will be posted in April.
