The Japanese government is set to approve a new lower taxi fare in Tokyo, it has been announced.
According to a report in News On Japan:
Japan's government is seen approving the introduction of a taxi starting fare of around 410 yen for about one kilometer in some Tokyo areas, against the current 730 yen for 2 kilometers, officials said Saturday.
The new fare will be a help in stretching a bit further visitors' travel expenses.
