The snow that we had last night was a bit more than yesterday's. We had about a half inch of snow dumped in the Jamestown, New Mexico area. Today's temperature was around 30°.
But the snow on the ground was no hindrance to me this morning. I had an appointment in Gallup to meet with an aide to the area's congressman about a possible future Clamper plaque dedication at Fort Wingate. He loved the idea and will pursue it further when the next meeting of the-powers-that-be of the fort takes place.

It was an enjoyable meeting, which ran the gamut of E Clampus Vitus, Godzilla, Superman and politics.
We focused on three possible monument locations: the main gate to Fort Wingate Army Depot, the Veteran's Park and the Fort Wingate cemetery (which I didn't know existed but will check out). But we aren't locked in on any of them. Other sites will be considered. About 2-3 historical buildings will be preserved, according to current plans. Others will be demolished as there is asbestos and other contaminants in them.

We are considering doing the plaque dedication maybe next year in the fall. I will have to talk to the head honchos of the Lost Dutchman Chapter to see what they would like to do.

After the meeting, I headed off to Albertson's supermarket to pick up some groceries before returning home.
The snow that fell lasted for most of the day but is now almost gone.
