Snow Tonight and Tomorrow

Above, this morning after coffee at the Flying J. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

This evening, I was watching the local news and it looks like a big winter storm is coming in tonight.

We did get some heavy snowfall this afternoon, but since the temperatures were around 36°, the snow melted as soon as it hit the ground.

The National Weather Service says the snow accumulation tonight will be around 2 to 4 inches. We'll see. The local news said that travel between Gallup and Albuquerque on Interstate 40 will be difficult.

Here's their forecast for tonight and tomorrow:

Tonight
Rain and snow showers, becoming all snow after 11pm. Low around 25. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Tuesday
Snow showers, mainly before 11am. High near 33. Southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Tuesday Night
A 20 percent chance of snow showers before 11pm. Patchy freezing fog after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 17. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph after midnight.
