Brad Sherman Wants To Kill Private Health Insurance

Rep. Brad Sherman came out of the closet on Obamacare in an interview with the Los Angeles Daily News following Obama's speech to a joint session of congress.

In the interview, Sherman said the following:

But Rep. Brad Sherman, D-Sherman Oaks, praised Obama for re-targeting his message.

"I think the president made some steps forward (Wednesday)," Sherman said in a phone interview. "A big chunk of his speech was addressing the people who like their (present) coverage, and those are the people we need to keep talking to.

"A lot of people are saying, 'I like what I have, and if we keep government from doing much, I get to keep what I have.' That's the biggest myth of all."

Sherman, who favors the so-called public option -- government-provided health insurance to compete with private insurers -- said people need to understand that the economic pinch is forcing employers to reduce coverage.

"I hope that we pass a bill by the end of the year," Sherman said. "If we don't ... I think the number of uninsured will grow faster than the (current) rate of 17,000 a day."

Obama's speech was nothing but a re-hash and re-packaging of the same lies he and his Obamatron supporters have been saying for months on Obamacare.

As Orlando Conservative-Examiner.com noted:

Obama, of course, has developed a reputation for lying to the people, whether it’s his pledge to use public financing for his campaign, his promise to post all bills on the White House’s website and give the people at least five days to view and comment on them, or his promise to broadcast all healthcare negotiations on CSPAN rather than conducting them behind closed doors. Since healthcare has been his major issue, it’s not surprising that Obama has lied a great deal about that. Obama lied when he said that, even with a public option, anyone happy with their doctor and insurance can keep it. Obama lied when he said that requiring insurance companies to cover, at no extra cost, preventive care for everyone would save money. The myth of preventive care as cheaper for society is simple enough for anyone with a grasp of economics or common sense to debunk. Just ask the Congressional Budget Office.

And, of course, there is the lie to which Wilson objected. The Center for Immigration Studies reported that Obamacare could benefit 6.6 million illegal immigrants, costing taxpayers an estimated $31 billion. The Congressional Research Service stated that Obamacare “does not contain any restrictions on noncitizens – whether legally or illegally present, or in the United States temporarily or permanently – participating in the exchange.” The CRS also noted that there is no requirement for people to present proof of citizenship for coverage. In July, Republican Representative Nathan Deal proposed an amendment that would require identity verification for coverage, but the amendment was defeated by the House.

By implementing Obamacare, its provisions will kill off private health insurance and will force people onto the government plan. It's in the bills before congress. Sherman has joined in on the Obama lie about this. Single-payer will undercut the private health care plans and Obamacare will dictate what is covered and what is not covered. It puts private insurers at a disadvantage as it does not need to make a profit.

Where the hell is the money coming from to pay for this boondoggle? The government has made a mess out of Social Security and Medicare. Are you willing to trust the government on your health care? Not me, brother!
