The falling yen has boosted tourism to Japan as foreigners are able to exchange their currencies for more yen.
Web In Travel.com reports:
There is no better time to visit Japan than now as the steady decline of the Japanese Yen has prompted a surge in interest for the country as an affordable travel destination, according to data from Hotels.com.
It has also led to a sharp increase in searches for accommodation in Japan. Searches increased by 59% during the holiday period of June 1 to August 31, compared to the same period in 2012 as savvy travellers capitalised on the falling prices.
The Japanese tourism industry has set a goal of 10 million visitors for 2013. They are nearing that goal and are likely to meet or exceed it.
I have written on numerous occasions that Japan's tourism industry will greatly increase once the foreign exchange rates become more favorable. Sure enough, the decline of the yen has made that prediction come true.
