Almost Target Shootin' Weather

Abovc, your truly at the shooting area last September. Photo by Larry Lucier.

Yesterday, the outside temperature in Jamestown and Gallup, New Mexico areas reached around 75°. That was nice to enjoy.

After getting the Jeep into Gallup to the mechanic's for some power and starting issues, I relaxed on my deck with ice tea or Alien Amber Ale. Then, I did some mini bike riding around the subdivision.

The warmer temperature heralds the impending return of outdoor target shooting weather. Unfortunately, it is not quite here yet as we have a Red Flag Warning for high winds. Once the winds taper down, we can then head to the shooting area next our subdivision to do some shooting. It is a bit hard to set up targets in high winds, to put it mildly.

According to the National Weather Service, today's weather is as follows:

Today
Sunny, with a high near 71. Windy, with a southwest wind 15 to 25 mph increasing to 25 to 35 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
Tonight
Mostly clear, with a low around 38. Windy, with a southwest wind 25 to 35 mph decreasing to 10 to 20 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph.
