100% Pure Aluminum Found At Roswell UFO Crash Site

Back in July 1947, headlines blared out that a "flying disc" or flying saucer had crashed in the southern section of New Mexico and recovered by the U.S. Army. The story was first reported by the Roswell Daily Record and picked up other newspapers around the country such as the Los Angeles Herald Express (below).

Then, almost as suddenly, the Army backtracked and said the object was a balloon, not a flying saucer.

This year marks 77 years since this incident. The controversy has not gone away.

Now, a geologist has found pieces of pure aluminum at the crash site that will surely open up a new can of worms.

According to the Daily Mail (U.K.):

America's most famous UFO case is still producing more evidence as scientists and civilians are on a mission to prove that the Roswell crash was not of this world. 

The 1947 incident made headlines when the US Army Air Force issued a press release stating that it had recovered debris from a 'flying disc' — only later to reverse course, claiming that the material had really just belonged to a downed weather balloon.

Geologist Frank Kimbler is among the many experts who have challenged the military's official version of what crashed on the outskirts of this New Mexico town, where he has scoured the alleged UFO's crash site with a metal detector since 2010.

Kimbler has since uncovered over 20 unusual scraps of metal material, most no bigger than a fingernail, and has now submitted one uniquely odd metal for testing to the Discovery Channel's new series 'Alien Encounters: Fact or Fiction.'

Testing revealed that the metal was '100-percent pure aluminum,' which experts said was 'compelling evidence' that could prove aliens crashed in the area decades ago.

74 Years Ago: "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region"

A newspaper came out whose headline shook up a lot of people. The headline still resonates today.

It was 74 years ago today (July 8, 1947) that the Roswell Daily Record reported that a flying saucer was recovered by the RAAF (Roswell Army Air Field) in Roswell, New Mexico.

Other newspapers around the country picked up the story, including the Los Angeles Herald-Express.

The Roswell incident is the 1947 crash of a United States Army Air Forces balloon at a ranch near Roswell, New Mexico, and the subsequent conspiracy theories claiming that the crash involved a flying saucer, and that the truth had been covered up by the United States government. On July 8, 1947, Roswell Army Air Field issued a press release stating that they had recovered a "flying disc" from a ranch near Roswell. The Army quickly retracted the statement and said instead that the crashed object was a conventional weather balloon.

The Roswell incident did not surface again until the late 1970s, when a retired lieutenant colonel, in an interview with a researcher of unidentified flying objects (UFOs), alleged that the weather balloon account had been a cover-story. Ufologists began promoting a variety of increasingly elaborate conspiracy theories, claiming that one or more alien spacecraft had crash-landed and that the extraterrestrial occupants had been recovered by the military, which then engaged in a cover-up.
