Today marks the 81st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii by the Japanese Imperial Navy on December 7, 1941.
This attack led the United States to enter World War II. The official death toll is 2,403.
Today's remembrance is known as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day was designated by an act of congress in 1994.
