Earlier this morning, I posted the following photo of vintage/antique Winchester rifles at the Facebook page, Winchester Pre-64 Rifle & Shotgun Collectors Group (1964):

These rifles are on display at the Billy the Kid Museum in Fort Sumner, New Mexico and the post was labeled as such.

The post received a lot of likes by the members. I had posted another photo of other Winchesters the day before and, as of now, it has generated no problems.

I received notice that the post was removed and I was put on a limited restriction until tomorrow morning. 

Naturally, I appealed this and they refused to restore the post.

No buying, selling or exchange of the rifles shown were taking place or even an hint of such. They must have morons working at Facebook's headquarters.

I then filed an appeal with the "independent" Oversight Board:

I doubt that anything good will come of this, but we must fight back on ridiculous Facebook decisions. 

Don't Say "Fat" On Facebook

A Facebook comment by writer/filmmaker Donald F. Glut prompted a Facebook Police warning after referring to (honestly) a woman in a photo as being fat. (Next stop, Facebook Jail?)

This reminded me of this photo from Japan of several years ago:

I guess Japanese people in department stores aren't that easily offended. 

One can never accuse Don Glut of surrounding himself by fat women.

Lifted Restrictions

As far as I can tell, the Facebook restrictions I was in for the past few days (since Thursday) have been lifted. At least it wasn't a total stint in Facebook jail.

Supposedly some will be in effect until April 5. One was being able to post in the groups I am a member of. I found that's still in effect. I was able to post in The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan group that I manage during the restriction time.

We shall see. 

Campervan Kevin Lock Out of Facebook

It looks like I'm not the only one with issues currently with Facebook.

Campervan Kevin has been locked out of his personal and Campervan Kevin accounts. Thanks to Nomadic Fanatic for helping him out.

I don't understand this. Campervan Kevin is one of the nicest folks in the YouTube camping world. 

Facebook Correctional Facility

My Facebook account was put on "restriction" this morning. I can comment on posts, but not much else.

Of course, Facebook has not said what exactly was the offending post for the restricted status except for this:

The above was what I received when I tried to share a blog post on the 42nd anniversary of the Reagan assassination attempt. 

Apparently, someone snitched to the Facebook Gestapo for something. It would be helpful if they would specifically state what was the offending post. But they never do, which is cowardly on their part. 

The good thing is, the restrictions haven't dented my daily view numbers here. I'll just have to wait it out.

12 More Hours To Go

Well, according to Facebook, I am supposed to be out of "Facebook Jail" in twelve hours from now.

The whole thing was ridiculous anyway. They were very vague on the reason I was put on restriction (something about 2019 violations) in the first place. 

Facebook Jail: The Latest

Friend Gary Julian (The Federalist and The People's Republic blogs) posted the following on Facebook this morning:

It is interesting that Facebook (and, I presume, other social media sites) will censor, restrict and ban people on flimsy excuses or none at all. I still don't know what prompted my being put in "Facebook Jail". Even though I was told that they didn't restrict my account. Either they don't know what they're doing or are liars.

Gary's blog, The Federalist, had been permanently banned by Facebook a few months ago.

Facebook Jail

Somehow yesterday afternoon, I found myself in "Facebook jail" for something I apparently did (or didn't do). It is most likely political (of course)

I received a notice that my account is "restricted":

So I went into restriction history and found that any "infractions" that I was "charged" with all took place in 2019. There were none for this year. So I'm to be "punished" for stuff from last year?!

After seeing that, I dug further and found this:

Okay, the item with yesterday's date indicates that they "didn't restrict [my] account." Yet, I still cannot post, comment or use Messenger. I have notified Facebook of this. As of this morning, I haven't heard from them and still can't do anything.

I also asked them what was the "offending" post (if any) that caused all this. Darned if I know.

It is obvious that with the election only two weeks away, Facebook is out to stifle free speech of conservatives. 

Scratch another one off my "bucket list".
