Asahi Shimbun's Glimpse of Tokyo

"The onslaught" of articles on Tokyo since it won the 2020 Olympic Summer Games continues. I can't really say that I blame them.

This time, the source is from the Asahi Shimbun's AJW (Asia & Japan Watch).  Today, they have a page of attractions that visitors to Tokyo should, in their opinion, would want to see.

They start it with:

In 1964, Tokyo had the honor of being the first Asian city to host the Summer Olympics. For Japan, the hosting of the international event symbolized its postwar economic success. Following the above, are their list of articles (interestingly, they are all dated September 8, 2013) on Tokyo's attractions. I suspect they had these ready to publish just in case Tokyo came out the winner of the September 7 vote.

One of the articles of Tokyo's attractions is on the Tsukiji Fish Market. Supposedly, the fish market was to be relocated from its current facilities in Tsukiji, Tokyo this year, but a contaminant chemical was found in the new location's soil. The government is now decontaminating the new location so that construction can begin and finished in time for the fish market's new planned relocation in 2015.
