Here We Go Again

 Here we go again.

Marriott International is not a "Johnny come lately" to woke advertising unlike Anheuser-Busch. For the past several years (at least since 2014), some of their ads have been targeting for LGBTQ clients. That's all fine and dandy.

As far as I am concerned, what someone does in their bedroom (or, in this case, hotel room) is their business. But we're seeing a constant bombardment of such advertising focusing on "alternative lifestyles". I, and many others, are tired of seeing it. There seems to be a campaign to make such lifestyles (or behaviors) mainstream. 

This ad popped up on Facebook:

If one approves of such advertising, that's fine. But if one objects to such advertising, that's fine as well. They shouldn't be surprised if they get major flak over it.

Apparently they haven't learned anything from the Bud Light experience. 

Fox News Compared To Bud Light After Parting With Tucker Carlson

Fox News, in terminating the contract it had with its highest-rated host Tucker Carlson, is now being compared to Bud Light.

Following the announcement of Carlson's departure from Fox News, rumors have been spreading including one that Carlson will be going to OAN (One America News Network) and another stating that Carlson as filed a one billion dollar lawsuit against Fox News.

We'll have to wait until the dust settles before things become clear. If this was a firing and the Fox News press release was just sugar-coating it, this is tantamount to killing the hen who laid golden eggs.

The abrupt exit of Fox News host Tucker Carlson from the conservative network has quickly spawned several comparisons to the Bud Light-Dylan Mulvaney controversy that has led to reduced sales and market shares for the beer giant.

Carlson and Fox News Media "agreed to part ways" on Monday morning in a move that has shaken up the entire cable news industry as well as the conservative movement that Carlson himself championed for nearly a decade as host.

Following the announcement, Fox News' share price instantly dropped nearly 5 percent to $31.85 per share before slightly bouncing back to $32.50 per share by early afternoon—still a decrease of almost 4 percent compared to last week, according to MarketWatch.

It is unclear if Carlson's departure is related to the settlement ($787.5 million) of a lawsuit between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News last week or of the departure of Dan Bongino from Fox News.

Fox News let go of Dan Bongino and his weekend show a couple of weeks ago. Now Tucker Carlson is gone. Are they on a mission to clean out conservatives to better “compete” with CNN?

Bud Light "Worst Party Ever"

Rep. Ted Lieu and his fellow California Democratic leaders posed with bottles of Bud Light to mock conservatives boycotting the company, and the internet roasted them for it.

Lieu posted a photo on Twitter of himself and fellow California Democratic Reps. Mark Takano, Judy Chu, and Adam Schiff drinking bottles of Bud Light, with all of their beer bottles' logos directly facing the camera. 

"None of these people hold a beer like they've ever held a beer before," conservative radio host and Townhall columnist Derek Hunter wrote. 

 "Barf," Rep. John Block, R-N.M., tweeted. "[N]ailing the final nail in the coffin for @budlight trash beer."

No Bud Light Here

Country star Travis Tritt has joined Kid Rock in boycotting Anheuser-Busch beer products. They are boycotting Anheuser-Busch after it chose trans activist Dylan Mulvaney to promote its Bud Light beers.

I, for one, am not boycotting their beers as I have my own preference, Alien Amber Ale, brewed here in New Mexico by the Sierra Blanca Brewing Company. Regular readers of this block know that to be the case or almost five years. So the Anheuser-Busch controversy has no effect on me, one way or another.

Back in the day (the 1970s), my only favored Anheuser-Busch beer product was Michelob beer. Budweiser was okay, but I was not particularly a fan. I am definitely not a fan of any light beers, no matter who makes them.

Good Beer Blimp Gondola At Albuquerque Sunport

While waiting for Jessica's plane to arrive at the Albuquerque Sunport, I was wandering around the terminal. As I was coming down an escalator, I spotted an interesting display. It was the gondola to an experimental advertising blimp, the Good Beer Blimp. 

I am guessing it was experimental as the motor ran on liquid propane.

According to the USML Digital Library:

The "Good Beer Blimp Busch" is the latest high-flying sales promotion vehicle for Anheuser-Busch Inc., a company spokesman said Thursday.

Apparently, there were two Good Beer Blimps. One was the Anheuser-Busch Good Beer Blimp Busch and the other was the Good Beer Blimp Budweiser. 

I couldn't tell from the gondola or the display's card which Good Year Blimp this one was.

The blimp only lasted about two years as it had stability and other issues and it consumed its propane fuel at a fast rate.
