Biden Alcohol Czar: Limit Americans To Two Beers A Week

The Looney Left Report

It's been a while since I posted any Looney Left Reports. Today, I'm posting two. (See the other one by going here.)

This is the second one.

Biden's "alcohol czar" wants to limit Americans to two beers a week. I enjoy New Mexico's Alien Amber Ale about one a day at most.

From Fox News:

President Biden's alcohol czar says Americans may be told by officials to have no more than two beers a week.

Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) George Koob told the Daily Mail on Thursday that the U.S. may follow Canada's footsteps on alcohol guidelines.

Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls told Fox News Digital the "rich men north of Richmond are once again recommending what hard-working Americans should and shouldn’t do."

"Biden’s beer czar has no business advising ‘guidance’ on alcohol consumption," Nehls said. "This is who the Democrats are. They want to control every aspect of your life."

"Two beers a week? What a joke," he continued. "Let’s not forget that JFK snagged 1,200 Cuban cigars just hours before banning all Cuban products from the United States."

They should mind their own damn business and leave people alone.

Biden's Latest Target: Ceiling Fans

The Looney Left Report

The latest in the Biden Administration's war on home conveniences/appliances has been revealed.

This time it's ceiling fans. I kid you not!

From Fox News:

Ceiling fans are now the latest target in the Biden administration's green agenda, sparking pushback from Republicans and manufacturers.

The Department of Energy is proposing a rule that would require ceiling fans to be more energy efficient, arguing the move would save U.S. households on energy costs.

According to the Energy Department's analysis, the new rules would save households about $39 over the lifespan of the new energy-efficient fan. However, the cost to manufacturers associated with the increased equipment will total $86.6 million per year, the department said.

BIDEN ADMINISTRATION'S WAR ON APPLIANCES IS JUST GETTING STARTED

Republicans on the House Committee on Small Business say that if the rule goes into effect, it could put small manufacturers out of business, given the costs the companies would incur in order to comply with the changes.

What part of "mind your own business" and "leave people alone" do they not understand?

Biden: Banking System Is "Safe"

The man who has the "Midas Touch in reverse", His Fraudulency Joe Biden promised today that people should have confidence in the banking system after two banks went belly up last week.

The Daily Caller reported:

President Joe Biden addressed the closures of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank on Monday, telling Americans to “have confidence” in the banking system because the administration is taking steps to hold those responsible “accountable.”

The president promised that the banks’ customers will “have access to their money” on Monday and that taxpayers will not be forced to bail out the banks.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) took control of the New York-based Signature Bank on Sunday after the Friday collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). The collapse of SVB is the largest bank meltdown since Washington Mutual in 2008, and will likely have reverberations across the tech sector.

When Biden said that those responsible will be "held accountable" over the fiasco, two thoughts came immediately to my mind: "That'll be the day!" and "This I gotta see!"

I don't see how anyone would have any confidence in anything Biden says or does. He's been a disaster since day one.

Gas Prices: Rethinking Vacationing Close To Home

Above, the Durango train gets ready to leave the station. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Unless gasoline prices make a drastic drop, it appears that any vacation road trips I'll do this summer will be relatively close to home. I was thinking of heading up to Wyoming and South Dakota.

My immediate thoughts are going up to Durango, Colorado or Monument Valley, Utah. Both are within a day's drive and won't break the bank (too much).

According to the Idaho Statesman:

For anyone west of Nebraska, it’s no surprise that gasoline prices are highest in the West. Unless you’re in Wyoming, Colorado or New Mexico.

Skyrocketing crude oil prices and the deteriorating political situation in Ukraine are soon expected to send prices soaring. On Tuesday, the price of a barrel of West Texas Intermediate crude oil sold for $92.94, a jump of $1.87 from Friday and $33.90 from a year ago. Oil rose to its highest level since 2014 after Russia sent troops to two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine.

Idaho’s price equaled the national average, but was significantly higher than the $3.40 charged in neighboring Wyoming, 5 cents more than Colorado. New Mexico had gas for $3.49, while the average price in Utah was $3.41.

GasBuddy predicts gas prices could reach $4 a gallon by this spring. That’s based on predictions for coronavirus recovery and increased demand before additional oil supplies arrive later in the year.

His Fraudulency Joe Biden is not off the hook when it comes to oil prices.

Bryan Bashur wrote in The Hill:

The Biden administration exacerbated the inflation of gas prices by both restricting the supply of oil and pressuring banks and asset managers to divest from traditional energy projects. The result of these flawed policies is weakened purchasing power for consumers and more reliance on foreign countries to keep the United States powered.

President Biden is restricting America’s ability to produce its own oil and is instead relying on foreign countries, some of which have governments run by totalitarian regimes, to produce more oil to lower gas prices. Biden’s decision to cut off avenues for more domestic supply of oil by canceling the Keystone XL pipeline and limiting exploration on federal lands and waters gives the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) significant leverage over American energy consumption.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) hit the nail on the head by stating that, “begging the Saudis to increase production while the White House ties one hand behind the backs of American energy companies is pathetic and embarrassing.”

As my motorhome's gas tank has a capacity of 55 gallons, vacationing closer to home seems to be the more prudent thing to do.

Keep Kamala Out, Pray For Joe

If Joe Biden prevails in all of the election challenges and is inaugurated as president on January 20, 2021, we a good Americans will have to pray every day for his health and safety so he lasts four years.

As bad a prospect of a Biden presidency would be, a Kamala Harris presidency would be a million times worse. She is a pure evil Marxist bitch.

Trump Campaign New Ad Buy

The Donald Trump campaign, ahead of Thursday's debate, has released early this morning five new and devastating ads.

The Daily Wire reported:

President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign is set to air a new lineup of advertisements at midnight tonight targeting Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden on a variety of issues ranging from policy to the growing controversy that he is facing regarding his son.

The new ad buy — five ads in all — centers on Trump’s “Promises Made, Promises Kept” campaign theme and casts Biden as someone who has achieved little over his nearly five decades in public office.
