"The Lujan Virus", Thank-you, Joe Biden!

New Mexico Politics with John Block blog pointed out something interesting and funny.

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden made another gaffe. It accidentally takes a big poke at Gov. "Malevolent Michelle" Lujan Grisham and Rep. Ben Ray Lujan at the same time.

Block wrote:

On Friday, former vice president and current Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden held a live conversation with various workers on the frontlines combating COVID-19. During the conversation, Biden made another gaffe, this time claiming President Trump’s Secretary of State Mike Pompeo insists on calling the novel Chinese virus the “Luhan Virus.”  

Biden was trying to say “Wuhan,” which is the province where the deadly Coronavirus spawned. According to recent research, the virus originated from a shrimp vendor in a market in the Wuhan region.

Included in Block's post is a video of Biden saying "Lujan virus".

New Mexico's Evil Three

We have a troika in congress from New Mexico who voted for impeachment this morning.

On Thursday morning, Democrats voted to continue the impeachment inquiry into President Trump, with most members voting for the partisan measure. All New Mexico Members of Congress, Reps. Ben Ray Luján(D-NM-3), Debra Haaland (D-NM-1), and Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM-2), voting for the partisan measure. 

Earlier in the morning, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi made a floor speech, saying “what it’s about is the truth” as she stood by the flag to introduce the impeachment vote. Pelosi dropped the names of Benjamin Franklin and other founding fathers to try and bolster her case for impeachment against President Trump

Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) took to the House floor, with a staffer attending to a printed sign emblazoned with the words “37 Days of Soviet-Style Impeachment Proceedings” as he roasted Pelosi’s sham impeachment inquiry, saying the Democrats’ resolution gives “no rights for the minority unless the Chair so designates,” and that the inquiry is being run by “Soviet-style rules.” 

Yes, Lujan, Haaland and Torres-Small support this resolution loaded with Soviet-style rules. Each of them need to be trounced in next year's election. They are the Evil Three of New Mexico.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham's Socialist Free College Plan

If there's one thing people can count on when it comes to Democrats, they are very generous people. But their generosity comes from out of other people's pockets. As usual, robbing Peter to pay Paul.

The latest is New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham's proposal for free college for New Mexico students, no matter what income their family may have.

According to the Albuquerque Journal:

Free college for all New Mexicans. 

That’s what Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham proposed Wednesday morning at a higher education summit at Central New Mexico Community College. The New Mexico Opportunity Scholarship would cover the tuition gap left after a student receives financial aid, grants and scholarships, including the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship.
And it would be available to students regardless of family income. State lawmakers would need to sign off on the proposal in order for it to go into effect. 

“F. R. E. … E. Let’s make it free,” Lujan Grisham said in announcing the proposal. “Here’s the moonshot for higher education.” 

The announcement earned Lujan Grisham a standing ovation in the auditorium at CNM, where hundreds of people, including leaders at New Mexico universities, had gathered to listen. 

Students would be able to use the scholarship to pay their tuition and fees at any public higher education institution in the state. The administration is estimating that 55,000 students would use the scholarship each year, and that the program would cost the state between $25 million and $35 million each year.

Naturally, this all sounds lovely until taxes in the state go sky high. Just take a look at California. The one-party state is giving away all kinds of goodies and the resulting tax burden on people are driving them out.

The $25-35 million for this freebie has to come from somewhere.

As John Block pointed out:

The Lujan Grisham free college proposal will cost an estimated $25 -$35 million each year. That will be more money the state will have to look for in our budget, which is currently bolstered by oil and gas revenues. 

Once the Governor’s “Green New Steal” legislation starts closing wells and driving energy producers out of the state, it’s unknown where the needed revenues for this program will come from.

Obviously, the money will have to come from the pockets of New Mexico's taxpayers. New Mexico is not a rich state and the added tax burden will be hard on the family budget.

Although many things he's predicted have come to pass, he's not happy about it.

I’d hate to say, “I told you so,” about the Lujan Grisham Administration, since I earnestly want our state to grow, prosper, and move forward with any governor in office, but it seems the predictions I made two days after the November election are already coming true, and it’s going to damage our state for decades. Michelle Lujan Grisham is shipping in costly DC swamp creatures and Harvard degree-touting Bay-Area insiders, making lavish incomes at their previous places of business, many times with yearly bonuses of $15,000+.

When Democrats aren’t mocking rural New Mexicans, disrespecting law enforcement, legalizing 100% unrestricted abortion up to the date of birth, lethally injecting breast cancer patients, putting mom and pop shops out of business by raising the minimum wage, destroying the oil & gas industry, snatching guns from law-abiding citizens, or bankrupting the state by paying for free daycare, they are trying to turn New Mexico into a “sanctuary state.”

I moved out of California (i.e., Commiefornia) due to the craziness by the Democrats there. California has become the laughing stock for the rest of the country (well, at least those with common sense). Grisham and the Democrat Party in New Mexico seem hell-bent on emulating Commiefornia's wacko policies.
