Steve was admitted to St. Joseph's Hospital yesterday afternoon. He developed an infection and required a blood transfusion because his blood was too thin from medication (for multiple medical issues) and his body was in shock with massive organ failure.
He passed away this morning at 5:00 a.m.
He married his longtime sweetheart Joanne in October 2009 in a ceremony (below) on Catalina Island on a hilltop overlooking Avalon Harbor.

Steve masterminded the Six-Way Clamptrek in Fall 2006. Without his attention to detail (and there were a lot of details) the event would not have gone anywhere as smoothly as it did. His talents in micromanaging will be sorely missed, especially when Clampers will want to know why there is peanut butter and no jelly! Steve would never let such details slip by.
Yes, the Six-chapter Clampout came off great.
Let's not forget his contributions in running the Platrix store (with Glenn) for several years. - A.
