They begin it with:

To be sure, RVing is not always stress-free. But in the video below, Izzy from Endless RVing, a channel that won one of our 2024 RV video awards, shares 12 tips to increase your chances of a stress-free RV trip.

10 Tips For Setting Up Camp In The Dark

Above, at the Fillmore (Utah) KOA. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

There is one thing that I really try to avoid when going camping, either in an RV or tenting, is arriving and setting up camp after dark. I've had to do that a few times over the years. Thankfully, not in recent years.

RV Life has posted 10 tips on setting up camp after dark.

It begins with:

We all like to believe that our RV trips will go off without a hitch and we’ll always arrive exactly on time. But of course, it’s a rare day when everything goes according to plan! Sometimes we arrive at our RV campsite several hours later than we meant to. Although it’s never ideal, this means that you need to set up camp in the dark.

Obviously, you should do everything you can to arrive at your chosen campground/RV resort before nightfall. But a detour, a vehicle breakdown, or unexpected traffic can throw off your timing. Even the most well-prepared travelers may run into a situation like this. Most RVers have had to set up camp in the dark at some point in their lives.

Although it’s not ideal, you can take care of business no matter how late it is. The key is being able to cover the necessities, while leaving the rest for the following morning. There’s no reason to take care of every little detail when you’re already tired and grouchy. So if you need advice on setting up an RV campsite in the dark, we’ve got a complete guide for you!

One of the best states for camping enthusiasts is the state of Utah.

Utah has it all. It has mountains, lakes, scenic highways, 5 national parks and red rock country.

RV Life has posted an article that is loaded with information on Utah camping.

They begin with:

Some of our country’s most spectacular landscapes can be seen while camping in Utah. Whether you want to experience the wonders of red rock country, the many activities in the mountains, or the sparkling shores of the Great Salt Lake, you’ll find there is a little something for everyone here.

2020: A Banner Year For RV Travel?

Above, The Beast at the Fillmore (Utah) KOA last summer. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Is 2020 going to be a "banner year" for RV travel?

Several questions were put to an expert on domestic travel via recreational vehicles in a Q & A posted by Forbes.com.

They begin with:
Will this be a banner year for RV travel? Consider that millions of cooped-up Americans are eager to get out and travel. Driving will be he preferred method of transportation and self-cocooning in some sort of RV would seem to be one of the most desirable ways to travel with family or close friends. It’s not just millennials who will be going after the van life. So I asked Craig Kirby, President of the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) for his thoughts on this coming boom.

Saving Money On A RV Road Trip

Now that summer is over and so is the prime vacation season for many, others can take advantage of fewer crowds, cooler weather and saving money on a RV trip.

The Effingham Daily News (Illinois) has an article on five ways to saving money on RV road trips.

They begin with:
Heading out on a road trip in a recreational vehicle allows travelers an opportunity to explore the nation while enjoying some comforts, too.
“It’s not so much about just getting to where you’re going and stopping when you’re there, but you really get to enjoy the journey,” says Julie Hall, a spokesperson for AAA. “It’s also a cost-effective way to travel, or it can be at least.”
But RV travel still comes with some expenses. Here’s how to keep them in check.

On The Way Home

Above, The Beast at the Fillmore KOA in Utah. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Today would have been a 12-hour long driving day if it weren't for an hour and a half visit (and lunch) with Mitch Geriminsky's grandson in Logan, Utah.

We left the Jackson Hole/Snake River KOA near Jackson at 6:00 this morning.

I hadn't seen Mitch's grandson since he was about 4 years old. We had a pleasant visit and lunch at the Black Bear Diner.

Today's drive was around 277 miles. We were caught in heavy traffic in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area on Interstate 15. After getting out of the city environs, we started looking for a campground to spend the night. I thought there were campgrounds/RV parks in the Nephi area, but there weren't. So, we ended up at the KOA Kampground in Fillmore, Utah. We arrived at about 6:00 PM. We're more than halfway through central Utah.

After the long drive, we made good use of the campground's hot tub. Now, as I write this, I am enjoying some Grand Teton Brewing's Teton Ale Amber. Not bad, but Alien Amber Ale is better.

We will probably be staying tomorrow night in Las Vegas.
