Today's the day to thank our veterans for their service to out country.

What is Veterans Day? Here's a little history for you.

From Wikipedia:

Veterans Day (originally known as Armistice Day) is a federal holiday in the United States observed annually on November 11, for honoring military veterans, who are people who have served in the United States Armed Forces (that were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable). It coincides with other holidays including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day which are celebrated in other countries that mark the anniversary of the end of World War I. Major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 when the Armistice with Germany went into effect. At the urging of major U.S. veteran organizations, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day in 1954.

Found Photo For Veterans Day

A little while ago, I was looking for something else and came upon a collection of photos my dad had from his stint in the U.S. Army in Korea. 

The one above is of my dad with a Jeep. I did not know what model Jeep this is, but had asked fellow members of a Facebook Jeep group of they can identify it. A fellow member identified it as a (Willys) MB. Another said that it could also be a GPW (they're almost identical).

Today is Veterans Day, where we Americans take note of the contributions our military veterans have made to keep the U.S. and much of the word free.
