Tokyo Tower In The Skytree Era

Since the Tokyo Skytree tower opened, Tokyo Tower has been pushed to "the back of the bus" as a popular tourist attraction.

News On Japan reports:


Tokyo Tower, long a symbol of Japan's period of high-speed economic growth, will turn 54 years old next month, and is trying out new strategies to remain competitive with the shiny new pillar across town. 
To deal with a dip in popularity since the opening of Tokyo Skytree in Sumida Ward, the operators of the aging tower in Minato Ward are trying to wipe out its nostalgic postwar image.
The operators of Tokyo Tower are trying to reach out to local neighborhoods and holding events.

Since Tokyo Tower has been the site of several kaiju battles over the years, perhaps a film festival of movies featuring Tokyo Tower is in order?  Tokyo Tower is spotlighted in The Monster Movie Fan's Guide To Japan on page 30.
