The Daily Yomiuri posted that a new certification system for travel agents will be started.
They wrote:
The Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) plans to launch a certification system for travel agents that arrange domestic tours for foreign tourists in a bid to squeeze out rogue operators and attract more visitors, according to sources.
The association plans to decide details of the system this year and adopt it in April, the sources said.
The system is designed to exclude rogue agents that force tourists to buy expensive items at certain shops.
By enhancing tour quality, the association hopes more tourists will visit Japan repeatedly.To read the full article, go here.
