Biden: "Gird Your Loins"

Senator Joe Biden (a.k.a. "Joe the Hair-Plugger") says that people need to "gird their loins" if Barack Obama is elected. He also said that an international incident will arise within six months of Obama's inauguration to put him to the test.

"Mark my words," Biden said. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden told supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."

Let's see, there are a number of possibilities. Iran may attack Israel. Israel may attack Iran. Russia may invade another country. Venezuela may attack Columbia. A terrorist attack may hit the United States. North Korea may attack South Korea. China may attack Taiwan. The possibilities are endless.

What this tells us is that foreign countries may not see Obama as a great uniter, but rather a weak, untested, inexperienced nobody who would be a pushover. Note that no such fears center around Sen. John McCain. He's already well known. Obama isn't.

The U.S.S.R. misjudged John F. Kennedy from his performance in a summit meeting in Vienna in 1961 with Nikita Khrushchev which led to the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962.

Amanda Carpenter noted at Townhall.com:

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden is already trying to manage expectations for an Obama Administration.

Biden, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee, told supporters at a fundraiser in Seattle that it might not be immediately apparent Obama is "right" during his first 100 days in office, especially on foreign policy matters.

This is scary. Is this really something we should take a chance in happening if Obama, the inexperienced and untested One, is elected?

No, thank you!

That thought occurred to many people, not just you.
