Media Blasters/Tokyo Shock has announced that the 2006 feature, Gamera The Brave (also known as Gamera: The Little Braves, at least that's what my ticket to the Tokyo premiere said) will be released on DVD in the United States and Canada on December 30.
It is to be a 2-disc set with extras that will, presumably, include trailers, behind-the-scenes featurettes and a possible commentary track.
It is now available for pre-order via Amazon.com:

Synopsis: A young boy, who lost his mother to an auto accident, finds an egg on an off-shore island. The egg hatches a turtle, which the boy takes home. The boy's father, a restaurant owner in a small town at a Japan inlet, tries to cope with his wife's death and his son. The turtle experiences growth spurts and goes to battle with a sea monster named Zedus. The final battle takes place in Nagoya.
I attended the April 2006 Tokyo premiere (photo below) of Gamera The Brave and found it to be an entertaining giant monster flick. I own the Kadokawa Herald DVD (Region 2) which included the Tokyo premiere in the extras disc. The movie is geared toward kids, but it isn't sappy to make adults cringe.
My Grade: B+
