Obama Rambled and Lied In Press Conference
President Barack Obama held the worst presidential press conference I've ever heard.
It was an incoherent, rambling mess of facts and figures pulled off the ceiling. When Obama was given a tougher-than-usual question (those were very few, given that he still has a fawning press backing him), he rambled and didn't directly answer the questions given him.
He also lied many times. Obama lied saying that he inherited from President Bush a $1.3-trillion federal budget deficit. A total fabrication. Obama said that the “biggest driving force behind the federal deficit is the skyrocketing costs of Medicare and Medicaid.” Another bogus statement. The biggest driving force is the spending from the stimulus and bailouts he initiated.
On healthcare, Obama claims his plan “lowers healthcare expenses.” The Congressional Budget Office burst that balloon days ago. There is no evidence that his plan (i.e., the one the Democrats in congress are backing) will lower anything! The CBO said that the plan now before congress will add trillions to the deficit!
Obama lied in saying that his healthcare proposal “promotes choice.” The plan now in congress eliminates choice by 2013! People seeking new health insurance will be prevented from having any choice in 2013 by law. They will be stuck with the single-payer socialist Obama plan with no recourse. This provision is in the Democrats' healthcare bill.
Obama restated his lie against Sen. Jim DeMint that the healthcare debate is “not about me.” A blue-dog Democrat reported a meeting with Obama in which Obama said, “You’re trying to destroy my Presidency!” This was in response to several Democrats who have come out against his socialist health plan.
Finally, he attacked pediatricians in saying they'd rather remove organs instead of pursuing less costly means of treatment. Another lie! It was also a smear against pediatricians.
Obama is against the ropes and it is showing!
