Sushi With Peter H. Brothers
Had a pleasant "brunch" today with writer Peter H. Brothers at Crazy Tokyo Sushi.
As customary for our get-togethers, each of us brought a Godzilla-related item to the restaurant. Peter brought along a 1983 Bandai Godzilla toy and I brought my newly-acquired 7" Tokyo Tower that I bought at G-FEST. We put the two items together and they looked cool, although the scale between the two was a little off.
We caught up on different things including his book on Ishiro Honda, G-FEST, monster conventions, etc. Surprisingly, he was unaware that Monsterpalooza took place recently in Burbank. He's sorry he missed it. We noted that our trip to Japan with G-TOUR took place five years ago next month. Where did the time go?
An interested publisher is currently reviewing his book and should make a decision shortly. He's been adding things to the manuscript and obtaining rare photos to put his book over the top with the publisher.
He viewed the YouTube video of Kenji Sahara at G-FEST XVI and noted that Sahara looked great at the convention. He thought Sahara didn't look too well in Godzilla Final Wars.
He is planning to attend next year's G-FEST, hopefully with his Honda book in hand.
Finally, we found that we have similar musical tastes as a Michelle Branch song was played over the restaurant's speakers. We both like her songs. So that is why Michelle Branch is at the top of this blog (in case you were wondering). For you, Pedro!
