Fed Ex Gets Stuck In Snow

The last part of my recent ammunition order arrived today (.30-30 Winchester). The first part (12 gauge shotgun shells) arrived last week before the snows started.

It was delivered by Federal Express. That part went smoothly. But, the Federal Express truck got stuck in one foot of snow on my driveway. It took the driver about 20-30 minutes to free the truck and drive it out.

After he was gone, I got the Jeep out, put it in 4WD and headed to get my mail at the Flying J. It was cold outside with wind, so I put on my old ski mask (I've had the thing since 1973). A few drivers got a good chuckle seeing me driving the Jeep wearing it with my Stetson on my head.

Heading back home, I saw the county's snow plow out plowing the roads in our subdivision. Later, my next door neighbor plowed my driveway. Good thing, too. I am expecting UPS to deliver a package tomorrow. We wouldn't want that truck getting stuck in the driveway, do we?

Fire Pit

While we had a downpour mixture of sleet and rain this morning, Fed Ex delivered my fire pit that I ordered a few days ago.

I've been wanting one since I moved here, but my little medical problem last summer had me put that idea on the back burner.

So, finally, I ordered one and it arrived today. Since it was sleeting and raining out, I put it together inside. It seems that one can't order anything these days without having some assembling to do. Well, it gave me something to do for a little while.

Within an hour, I got it done. After the storm passed, I put it outside with the plastic it came in wrapped on the top screen to keep water out (hopefully).

Of course, Sierra had to inspect everything including the box with the packing materials inside. I guess it got her approval.

I am looking forward to having a brew during the evening hours by a fire this summer.

UPS and Fed Ex In Major Delivery Screw Up

Thousands of people had their Christmas ruined by the non-delivery of packages (i.e., gifts) by the United Parcel Service (UPS).

Now it is coming out that Federal Express (Fed Ex) has also screwed up in package deliveries.

Personally, I did not order any gifts that required delivery by either UPS or Fed Ex, but I did have to re-order a car part that was allegedly delivered on December 19. It was supposedly delivered, but no package was left at my door nor was there a note indicating an attempted delivery was made. Fed Ex allegedly handed it off to the local Tarzana Post Office. I contacted them, but all I received was hand-wringing.

I had to re-order the part (which is supposedly going to be delivered tomorrow), but the Fed Ex online tracking website has shown no movement activity since Saturday.

The sender will reimburse me for the missing parcel.
