Pipe Break Fixed

The pipe break near the fire station has been fixed. The water is back on.

There's air in the lines, but that should be resolved as time goes on. There's some rust in the water, but that's also resolving.

A big "thank-you" to the Whispering Cedars Water Association repair crew for getting on it right away.

Nandoh Munoz posted this photo on Facebook of the repairs in progress. The fire station is in the background.

The Storm Is Coming!

Above, from the National Weather Service.

The "Big Kahuna" storm (or Round 3) is heading my way. We are getting some sporadic rain and high winds, but the brunt of the storm is in Arizona. The above image is listed as Continental Divide, which is 8 miles east of Jamestown.

Jack Rabbit Trading Post in St. Joseph, Arizona posted a video a few minutes on Facebook showing the snowfall that's accompanied by high winds. They are 133 miles from Jamestown, New Mexico.

It looks like I'll be heading to Albuquerque tomorrow morning instead of tonight.

Interstate 40 is closed near Flagstaff, Arizona due to the snowstorm. If one doesn't have to drive today, don't!

Had a great time at Roberta and Nando's last night for Thanksgiving dinner. They have a lot of interesting things (many are classic or antique items) that reminded me of a Cracker Barrel restaurant. Thank you, Nandoh and Roberta!

According to the National Weather Service:

Today
Rain before 11am, then snow. High near 40. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Tonight
A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20 to 25 mph. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Saturday
Mostly sunny, with a high near 33. West wind 15 to 20 mph.

Jeepin'

Above, down at the Flying J today. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Today, I planned to do some Jeep driving, so I got the Willys Jeep out of the garage and took it down to the Flying J.

Once there, I checked and it turned out that I didn't need gasoline, but it was good practice to drive it to the Flying J since the gearing is different from the Mustang, even though both are manual shift vehicles. I would have figured the trip into Gallup two weeks ago would have used up more gasoline than it did.

Above, I thought the Jeep might need some gas, but it didn't. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

After leaving the Flying J, I stopped by Nandoh's place for a quick visit. He was working on a home remodeling project, so I didn't want to take him away from his work for too long. He has a 1962 Jeep.

After leaving Nandoh's, I drove around the neighborhood a bit before putting the Jeep back into the garage.

In The Garage

Above, yours truly with the Jeep. Photo by Nandoh Munoz.

This afternoon, I was paid a quick visit by one of my neighbor friends, Nandoh Munoz. He came to see if I am missing the rear section of the cab cover to my Willys Jeep. He said one was found on the road in the community and it was placed at the community bulletin board.

I told him I wasn't missing one.

Like me, Nandoh is an ex-California (from San Pedro) and retired to New Mexico. He moved here about a couple of years before I did. Usually, one can spot him riding around on his Harley.

We proceeded over to the garage to show him my 1952 Willys Jeep. He hadn't seen it yet and he has a 1962 Jeep.

While in the garage looking over the Jeep and chatting I had him take a couple of photos with the Jeep. One of them is posted at top.
