Win or lose, today marks the end of the longest presidential campaign in history. Regardless of the outcome, it will be a relief to see it end.
There are reports that police departments in different cities are "girding their loins" (thanks, Sen. Biden) for possible voter unrest. This could mean that sore losers or jubilant winners may take things to extremes. It could also mean an uprising over voter fraud. It could mean all the above.
No matter who wins, both sides need to keep cool heads. There will be plenty of time to digest the outcome.
I just hope the voters choose wisely.
