American Film Icon Clint Eastwood Turns 96 Today!

Victory party at the Century Plaza Hotel. Photo by Paul Evans.

Wow! Clint Eastwood turned 96 today!

It is hard to believe that he has reached this milestone. Then again, it is also hard to believe that I am 24 years behind him in age!

Well, growing old is not so bad when one considers the alternative, eh?

I was forunate enough to meet him and get his autograph at the Reagan-Bush Victory Party at the Century Plaza Hotel. I had him sign my ticket to the private reception (below).

Happy Birthday, Clint!

Stupid Voters Have Spoken

Above, Zohran Mamdani.

Last night's election results were not much of a surprise. The only thing they show is that stupid people should not be allowed to vote.

In New York, Zohran Mamdani became the city's mayor-elect. An avowed socialist (some even go so far as to refer to him as a communist due to his past policy statements) will likely drive more people out. Well, those people who voted for him deserve the chaos he will bring to the city. Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who ran as an independent, never had a chance. He was damaged goods even before he entered the race.

In California, Gov. Gavin Newsom's Proposition 50 passed. No surprise there. California is essentially already a one-party state and there are enough idiots there to vote for the measure. Not much will change as a result, except the few remaining Republican members of congress are now in danger of getting Gerrymandered out of office.

It appears that the current government shutdown had little or no effect on the election.

The rest of us can sit back and watch the shit-show circus as it unfolds.

Last Night

Here are asome photos I took last night of the television screen.

And, one of me enjoying a rum and Coke while watching the returns:

Trump Wins!

Our long national nightmare is over.

Last night, I stayed up until President-Elect Donald Trump finished his victory speech. That was around 1:00 am. I haven't stayed up this late in ages. I'm usually in bed by 9:00.

The last time I remember doing so was election night in 2016, also for a Trump win. Except that I was in my motorhome in an RV park near Springfield, Illinois, the "Land of Lincoln".

I just got up our of bed to find about three inches of fresh snow outside.

I am pleased that Trump won and the GOP retains control of the House of Representatives and regains control of the Senate.

Locally, Nella Domenici did not win a Senate seat and neither did Yvette Harrell win back her House seat.

Kari Lake's loss was a disappointment in Arizona. But, at least Sen. Ted Cruz was re-elected.

I Voted!

A little while ago, I cast my ballot vote at the Whispering Cedars Fire House polling place.

I was voter number 40.

Here is this year's sticker:

Harris Victory = Gun Sale Surge

Today is Election Day.

This will be a watershed day in the nation.

Much has been said and written about what a Harris victory means. There is one thing that is sure to happen if she does win (pray to God she doesn't and get your behind out and vote for Trump): a surge in gun sales and ammunition.

The Washington Examiner posted the following:

Sales of guns took a temporary pause last month as the public headed into an Election Day that could determine the future of the Second Amendment.

The FBI said background checks fell, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the firearms industry group that parses those reports for sales numbers, said they were down about 5%.

Still, NSSF said the market remains strong and recorded the 63rd consecutive month of sales over 1 million.

“These figures tell elected officials where America stands on support for the Second Amendment,” NSSF spokesman Mark Oliva said.

In 2016, when it appeared that Hillary Clinton was headed to a solid victory over Donald Trump, gun sales surged at the end of the campaign.

This year, the race appears tied, though each side believes it is ahead.

As a result, said some gun sellers, many have paused purchases, especially those who are concerned that Harris will revert to her preelection positions of pushing for gun control and possibly gun confiscation.

Should she win, they anticipate a flood of customers, new and old.

“With the polls razor close, a lot of buyers are taking a wait-and-see approach. However, given the history of social unrest and rioting following election days, we expect a spike in sales no matter who wins. Fear sells firearms, and when people’s timelines and news feeds are filled with people committing violence, they naturally seek comfort by buying guns,” said Justin Anderson, the marketing director for Hyatt Guns in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the nation’s largest gun stores.

Election: View From Australia

Here's what Sky News Australia sees in the polling and what to expect tomorrow:

Election 2024: THIS IS IT!

This morning, I received an email from the New Mexico Shooting Sports Association.

It reads in part:

Are you interested in your 2nd Amendment rights?

Make sure you VOTE. Your rights depend upon it.

This is it, your chance to make your voice heard. If you haven't voted already, make sure you do before the close of this Tuesday. You might not like Donald Trump's personality, but you need to decide how you feel about:

  • Endless wars

  • Men in women's sports

  • Your tax dollars paying for transgender surgeries for inmates

  • Open borders importing millions of illegals

  • Forced importation of illegals into your communities

  • Universal citizenship for all illegals

  • Crime at record rates

  • Inflation is the highest in your lifetime

  • Deficit spending leading to the collapse of the dollar

  • Interest so high destroying the housing market

  • Destruction of the US energy industry and record gas prices

  • Media censorship and the destruction of free speech

  • Confiscation of your firearms

  • A permanent Democratic majority based on the importation of millions of illegals

Make sure you make your voice heard, and bring your friends and neighbors to the polls.

Election Week Weather

Above, Tee Pee Trading Post in Lupton, Arizona in 2019. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

Election week will bring snow showers to Jamestown, New Mexico.

Funny thing, when I looked at this week's forecast of the National Weather Service, it stated that snow showers may begin tonight through Monday. But on Election Day (Tuesday), it will be sunny with a 50° temperature. Then, possible snow showers (40% chance) will hit on Wednesday and the rest of the week.

Today, I did manage to drive the Jeep down to the Flying J and around the community. It was the first time in days I did so.

Right now, the area is socked in with clouds, so maybe we will get snow showers tonight (40% chance).

The forecast:

Tonight
Scattered snow showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

American Rifleman: Election '24 Issue

The latest issue of the National Rifle Association's (NRA) features former President Donald Trump immediately following the assassination attempt in Butlet, Pennsylvania. It is now hitting mailboxes nationwide.

This is one issue all members (and non-members) who value their Second Amendment rights should read as it is on next week's election.

Here's the cover:

Bye-Bye, Beetlejuice!

The worst ever mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, has lost re-election. It is plainly obvious that the people of Chicago are fed up with her.

From the Chicago Sun-Times:

Lori Lightfoot, the first Black woman and the first openly gay person ever to serve as mayor of Chicago, on Tuesday became a one-term mayor.

With nearly 99% of the precincts reporting, the mayor who guided Chicago through the pandemic finished third in Tuesday’s election with 17.06% of the vote behind former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas, who won 33.77 %, and Cook County Commissioner and Chicago Teachers Union organizer Brandon Johnson, who wound up with 20.29%.

Vallas, 69, and Johnson, 46, will face off five weeks from now in the April 4 runoff to decide who will become the 57th mayor of Chicago.

New Mexico Election Results Make No Sense

Many in New Mexico have felt that there was something fishy about New Mexico's election results in the 2020 election. Calls for investigation were made, but nothing was done.

Now we have some 2022 New Mexico election results that make no sense either. This has caught the attention of the Gateway Pundit.

They begin with:

When you look at the map of the 2022 results to date for the US House you would think that New Mexico is a blue state.  However, people who live there say it isn’t so.

The problem in New Mexico is Democrat election corruption similar to the problem in other blue states.

Erin Clements, who worked alongside her husband David Clements and many others in the state to perform election audits in the state of the 2020 Election results said earlier this year:

We have found mountains of red flags in the data and multiple failures on the part of the SOS to ensure the “the purity of elections [to] guard against the abuse of the elective franchise.”

After the midterms she shares:

The 2022 General Election that just transpired shows a continuation of these anomalies and violations of the law. New Mexico can no longer continue to gloss over these issues. They must be dealt with now.

Yes, they should be dealt with now, but nothing likely will. The state is dominated by the corrupt Democrat Party and they have refused to look into complaints in the past. The NM Secretary of  State, Maggie Toulouse Oliver, is a partisan viper who cannot be trusted. We also can't look for a federal investigation either because, as we all know, the federal government is in control of the same corrupt Democrat Party.

Above, NM SOS Maggie Toulouse Oliver.

The Democrat Party is one thing, but where has the Republican Party of New Mexico been? I haven't heard hardly a peep out of the state party bosses concerning the 2020 election (except a court case on mass mailing of ballots that was ruled illegal) and haven't yet heard anything from them on this year's election.

I Voted!

Above, yours truly after voting.

A little while ago, I did my patriotic civic duty and voted. Our community votes at the Whispering Cedars Fire Station.

I was voter 29 according to the machine (hope it ain't a Dominion). There were seven other voters who came in behind me. While there I introduced myself to the father-in-law of one of my friends here.

It was an easy process to vote. It was a good thing I typed in the name of a write-in candidate (for Public Lands Commissioner) in my phone so I could write him in. I couldn't remember his name (CRS again).

Above, the Whispering Cedars Fire Station. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

After voting, I was given a small Cinnabon cinnamon roll as I left the polling place.

Now to sit back and wait for the polls to close and see the results tonight. 🤞

NOTE: An interesting aside. Before going into the fire station to vote, several neighbors and I were talking and one had a rain gauge at her home and she kept a record of its readings. She said the rain total we got this year was 21 inches.

RPNM Weekly Roundup: Election Day!

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY!

GO OUT AND VOTE!

Today is Election Day--PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE!

Polls are open from 7am to 7pm across New Mexico today. More than 439,000 New Mexicans have cast votes so far.

You are deciding on our next governor, Congressional and legislative seats, statewide offices, key judicial seats and local offices across the state. RPNM urges everyone to get out and vote. Crime, education, border security, inflation and child welfare are among the key issues this election year.

Under Gov. Lujan Grisham and the progressives in the legislature, New Mexico has become a true embarrassment. Radicals at the Roundhouse continue to hurt New Mexico and keep our great state at the bottom. New Mexicans deserve better and deserve better leadership. You can change all this by electing conservatives who will change our state for the better. We need leaders who will restore traditional New Mexico values and promote faith, family and freedom.

For those working as poll challengers today:

New Mexicans are ready for a change.  This election will determine the direction of our state.

Are Rally Crowds An Indicator On What Will Happen On Election Day?

Above, last night's Ronchetti campaign rally in Albuquerque. Photo by Ronchetti Twitter post.

Do campaign rally crowds indicate what will take place on Election Day? It's hard to say.

Last night, GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Ronchetti held a rally that drew a crowd of hundreds, if not a thousand attendees in Albuquerque. In contrast, only a few dozen people attended a rally for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The polls have shown statistical ties between the two. It has to be noted that most of them have oversampled Democrats. So the numbers for Ronchetti could possibly be greater in actuality. Once the votes are tabulated, we'll know for sure.

The polling places in the state will open in less than a half hour from now.

We changed the time two days ago, now it's time to change the New Mexico governor. Voters, it's in your hands.

No "Red Wave" Unless You Vote!

Today is Election Day.

To begin the process to end the madness of the past two years, every Republican and like-thinking Democrats and independents have to get out and vote.

We have a country to save! Vote!

There's Some Good Election News In Albuquerque

DAN LEWIS RECAPTURES ALBUQUERQUE CITY COUNCIL SEAT

REPUBLICANS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO HOLD MAJORITY ON COUNCIL

Albuquerque, November 3—Former Albuquerque City Councilor Dan Lewis is heading back to City Hall. Lewis defeated incumbent Cynthia Borrego last night with 52% percent of the vote.

Lewis’s victory means another conservative voice will be on City Council. He represents District 5 in Northwest Albuquerque. Lewis served as City Councilor from 2009-2017.

Lewis says he’s honored voters put their faith in him again and pledges to bring more accountability to city government.

“I look forward to working with the administration, but we must make sure we have checks and balances,” said Lewis. “We must hold the administration accountable and really take a look at spending and priorities. I also really want to improve road infrastructure in my district and to work at getting my constituents a better quality of life.”

Lewis’s win swings Council to the right, and there’s now an opportunity for a power change. Republicans have a chance to hold the majority of seats.

Two other Republican candidates ran strong campaigns and will be in runoffs next month.

City Councilor candidate Lori Robertson in District 7 received 32% of the vote. That district is in the Northeast Heights.

“We have a great opportunity for big change at City Hall,” said Robertson. “We need to get people to go out and vote in the runoff election. There’s never been a greater opportunity for conservative voices to be heard on City Council. It’s so important to make sure people get out and vote.”

City Council candidate Renee Grout in District 9 got 43%. That district is in the Southeast Heights and Foothills.

“I’m so grateful to my family, our volunteers and all the voters who supported me. We still have a lot of work to do,” said Grout. “We will continue to campaign hard, and I look forward to serving our great city.”

Both Robertson and Grout ran strong campaigns and got out their conservative message.

If Robertson and Grout win their runoffs, Albuquerque’s City Council would hold a Republican majority for the first time since 2013.

The runoff election is December 7.
