Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner Must Go!

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner must go. He has inspired no confidence (except, maybe, with Barack Obama) with the American people.

Before he became treasury secretary, Geithner was exposed as a tax cheat, a charge that prevented others from taking positions in the Obama Administration. They at least took the honorable route and withdrew their nominations.

In the words of Rep. Connie Mack, R-FL, "Well before Timothy Geithner became Secretary of the Treasury, he was working hand-in-hand with AIG and other financial institutions to provide them hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money as one of the key architects of the financial sector bailout. I was outspoken against the bailouts then, and I’m even more outraged now."

Geithner lied about when he knew of the AIG bonuses. He was well aware of them at least by March 3 and authorized them. He claimed he found about them later.

The Treasury Dept. is a mess. He cannot even get assistant treasury officials appointed.

Thanks to Geithner, tax dollars are being wasted. Geithner was also a major architect of the stimulus plan that has saddled our country with debt that will be near-impossible to pay off.

Some have wondered if Geithner is either a bad liar or just an incompetent. In my view, he's both.

Now he's seeking even broader powers over other financial insitutions.

Geithner must go!
