Survey of Southeast Asian Air Travelers

A survey of people from Southeast Asia was recently taken by TripAdvisor on air travel. The respondents provided their opinions on what's good and what's bad about air travel.

Japan Today posted an article on this survey which had interesting results, some of which reflect many of the same complaints (and some compliments) voiced by American air travelers.

Before getting into the survey results, they wrote:
HONG KONG —TripAdvisor has unveiled the results of its inaugural air travel survey of more than 1,200 respondents from Southeast Asia.
“Interest in international flights continues to rise despite some persistent air travel frustrations, such as uncomfortable seats, limited leg room and unpredictable flight changes but we are also seeing some positive signs as flyers report easier booking and more flight routes that help improve the traveler experience,” said Andrew Wong, regional director of TripAdvisor Flights, APAC.
I can relate to the complaint about "unpredictable flight changes" with my recent experience with United Airlines when I was leaving Japan. My original flight was cancelled due to "maintenance." They re-booked me on a flight that required long stopovers in Guam and Honolulu. A nice check-in clerk at Narita International Airport managed to book me on a direct flight at a much more convenient time.
