Japanese Banknotes and Coins

One thing a visitor or a new expat to Japan needs to learn and know about is Japanese money.

Roughly, 2,000 yen is roughly $20.00 U.S. and 10,000 yen is roughly $100.00 U.S. 500 yen is roughly $5.00 U.S. An easy way to figure the dollar equivalent is to move the decimal point two digits to the left from the right.

Fortunately, Japan Info has posted an article describing Japanese banknotes and coins.

To read it, go here.
