Sometimes, it is best not to visit the more popular national parks during the summer season. Those parks have enormous crowds and finding accommodations (lodges, cabins, campsites, etc.) is very difficult, if not near-impossible.
I visited two of them during the off-season: Yosemite National Park and Grand Canyon National Park.
