April saw a record number of foreign visitors coming to Japan, according to Nikkei Asian Review.
They reported:
TOKYO -- Foreign visitors to Japan topped 2.57 million in April, the highest total for a single month, The Nikkei learned Thursday.
The number for April rose 23.9% from a year earlier, due largely to more visitors seeking experience-based tourism, as well as an increase in the number of cruise ships visiting the country. Arrivals for the first four months this year also grew, up 16.4% on the year to 9.11 million.
