Custer National Cemetery and Battlefields

When planning the trip to Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota, I had to time it so that we could attend the Winchester Arms Collectors Association's gun show in Cody, Wyoming and to visit the Little Bighorn Battlefield.

As construction is now underway for a new visitor center, the Little Bighorn Battlefield is only open to visitors from Fridays to Sundays this summer. A temporary visitor center has been placed near the Custer National Cemetery. I wasn't aware that there is a national cemetery at the Battlefield until we arrived.

We walked through the National Cemetery and, after that, took a driving tour through the Custer and Reno-Benteen Battlefields with stops at both areas.
