Ed Faulkner, Longtime John Wayne Co-Star, Dies At 93

Above, Ed Faulkner in Chisum (1970).

The name Ed Faulkner may not conjure up any recollections, but his face is quite familiar to fans of John Wayne and Elvis Presley movies.

The  Daily Beast reported:

Actor Edward Faulkner, who appeared in six films with John Wayne and two with Elvis Presley, has died at 93 of natural causes. Faulkner died Aug. 26 at a health care facility in Vista, California, his daughter Leslie Wadsworth revealed to The Hollywood Reporter. The McLintock!, Rio Lobo, and The Green Berets actor had a long-standing chess rivalry with Wayne. “I occasionally let him win,” Faulkner said, who once kept a plane idled to keep from interrupting a match between the actor and Wayne. Faulkner, a 6′3″ Kentucky native, saddled up on horses in multiple TV westerns, but his debut on the silver screen came in the form of an uncredited role on the 1960 film G.I. Blues, starring Elvis Presley.

Faulkner also appeared in The Undefeated, Chisum and Hellfighters with Wayne.

"Wannabe Dictator" Producer Identified

The "fit is still hitting the shan" around media outlets over the Fox News banner Tuesday night calling His Fraudulency Joe Biden a "wannabe dictator" during a split-screen broadcast of Biden and former President Donald Trump.

The Daily Beast identified the "culprit" responsible for it.

They wrote:

The Fox News producer who authored the network’s chyron Tuesday night labeling President Joe Biden a “wannabe dictator” has parted ways with the company, two sources told The Daily Beast on Thursday.

Former Tucker Carlson Tonight managing editor Alexander McCaskill, who features prominently in a toxic work environment lawsuit by a former colleague, is no longer with the network—a topic that Carlson himself discussed in the latest episode of his Tucker on Twitter video series.

I suspect that McCaskill was going to leave Fox News anyway, so he left this "parting jesture" knowing that Fox would oust him over it. So he resigned.

Canada's "Roswells"

Above, a sign marks the spot of the Shag Harbor UFO crash.

If one thinks that the United States has a monopoly of UFO sightings or crashes, think again.

Canada has its share of UFO sightings and the Daily Beast posted an article on two of them.

They wrote:
Driving the Extraterrestrial Highway with a detour to Area 51 is a perfectly legit reason to visit Nevada, and we all know why people go to Roswell, New Mexico. But Canada?
Yes, Canada, too, has a couple of top-tier UFO sites worth checking out, and both also happen to be located in picturesque, tourist-friendly settings.

Horseback riding to a UFO encounter site in the Manitoba woods is a mind-expanding outing. And at a modest interpretive center in a Nova Scotia fishing village, talking to a guy who actually saw an unidentified flying object crash into the ocean makes things real.

Hacker Reveals Jennifer Lawrence Is Paid Less Than Male Co-Stars

Above, Jennifer Lawrence.

It is interesting to learn that the bastion of liberal politics, Hollywood, is neck-deep in sex discrimination when it comes to compensating their stars.

A hacker has reached into the records of Sony Entertainment (Columbia Pictures) and found that Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence was paid less than her male co-stars in American Hustle.

According to The Daily Beast:
The Daily Beast has combed through much of the hundreds of thousands of emails and unearthed many other shocking revelations which you can find here.
But the most troubling reveal concerning Lawrence is in regard to her financial compensation with hacked emails revealing that the Hunger Games star was compensated less than her male co-stars on American Hustle
In an email dated December 5, 2013, Andrew Gumpert, President of Business Affairs and Administration for Columbia Pictures, wrote to Pascal and Doug Belgrad, President of SPE Motion Picture Group, about the “points”—or back-end compensation—that each actor was to receive on Hustle. (The “Amy” referred to is Amy Adams, “O'Russell” is director David O. Russell, “Renner” is Jeremy Renner, and  “Megan” is Megan Ellison, head of Annapurna Pictures, which co-financed Hustle.)
The funny part is that liberals in the Democratic Party and Hollywood have been claiming that there's a "war on women" by the Republican Party and beating the drums for equality, yet female stars are getting the short end when it comes to compensation by their Hollywood studio masters. This is hypocrisy at its worst.
