Celebrities Bailing Out Rioters Slammed

Hollywood scum are being called out for their offers to bail out rioters by pundit Dan Bongino, Sen. Ted Cruz, actor James Woods and others.

According to the Washington Times:

Celebrities are coming under fire for donating to a bail fund aimed at springing protesters even as police struggle to stop the escalating violence in Minneapolis and other U.S. cities. 

Steve Carell, Janelle Monae, Seth Rogen, Ben Schwartz and Halsey were among those donating to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which is raising money to bail out protesters flooding the streets over George Floyd, a black man who died Monday while in police custody. 

Those contributions were called into question on social media by those asking why celebrities would want to support the mobs throwing rocks, breaking windows, looting stores, and setting fire to businesses and other buildings. 

“#Minneapolis police precinct set on fire…While #Hollywood stars like @Sethrogen, @SteveCarell and @rejectedjokes make donations to bail out ‘peaceful protesters,’” tweeted conservative talk-radio host Buck Sexton. 

The Federalist’s David Harsanyi asked Mr. Rogen to donate instead to black Minneapolis residents like Stephanie Wilford, who gave an interview sobbing over the destruction, or Korboi Balla, a former firefighter who saw rioters destroy the bar he had bought with his life savings.

Bongino likewise included this dream: “I hope no American goes to see another damn movie again from one of these idiots supporting this nonsense.”

Popstar Justin Timberlake, furthermore, promised cash for those detained and also obtained ratioed for his initiatives. 

“Justin, how about giving your millions to a fund to help the African-American and Hispanic small businesses that are being burned & looted, rather than a fund to bail out the spoiled (often white) ANTIFA terrorists who are destroying minority communities?” [Sen. Ted] Cruz asked.

Yes, while Timberlake enjoys the lap of luxury, including a membership at the Lakeside Golf Club in Toluca Lake, California, the victims of the rioters he's trying to help are suffering. Maybe Timberlake should equally suffer by calling the Lakeside Golf Club ((818) 984-0801) to demand that they sever his membership there.

“Hope: Entertainer of the Century”

Eleven years after he died at age 100, comedian Bob Hope finally has a book about him.

It is titled, “Hope: Entertainer of the Century” (Simon & Schuster) by Richard Zoglin.

Japan Today (of all places) posted an article on the biography of Hope. The article states:

NEW YORK —While today he may be thought of with misgivings, if at all, Bob Hope reigned for much of the last century as America’s wisecracking avatar of comedy. 

By the time he died in 2003 at age 100, Hope had conquered vaudeville, Broadway, recordings, live concerts, radio, films and, from its infancy, TV, where he remained a welcome presence into his 90s. 

“By nearly any measure, he was the most popular entertainer of the 20th century,” writes Richard Zoglin. 

That alone should bear out Hope’s career-long theme song, “Thanks for the Memories.” Yet memories of Hope have already dimmed, and his achievements, still felt by performers and audiences alike, now are largely taken for granted.

In Zoglin's opinion, Hope invented the art form of stand-up comedy. Yet, when he asked a number of today's stand-up comics, Hope is never mentioned as an influence.

There is one place where Hope's influence is still felt: the Lakeside Golf Club in Toluca Lake (not far from Hope's home). There are many reminders of his longtime enjoyment of golf. He was a member of the golf club for years and there are many photographs of Hope throughout the clubhouse. I saw Hope in-person once. It was at the opening of the Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California.
