Killer of State Police Officer Captured

A wanted cop and paramedic killer has been captured following a police chase in Bernalillo County.

According to ABC News:

The suspect wanted in the killings of a New Mexico state trooper and a South Carolina paramedic was captured Sunday following a shooting involving law enforcement, authorities said.

The suspect, Jaremy Smith, was taken into custody in Bernalillo County, New Mexico, after leading police on a chase that resulted in a shooting involving at least one deputy from the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, according to the New Mexico State Police.

Smith is suspected in the fatal shooting of New Mexico State Police officer Justin Hare early Friday and the slaying of Phonesia Machado-Fore, a South Carolina paramedic who was reported missing on Thursday, authorities said.

The 33-year-old suspect, who was identified on Saturday by police, was the subject of a massive manhunt. New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler had said during a news conference, "Jaremy Smith, we are coming for you."

Hopefully, Smith will be extradited to South Carolina for trial and, possibly, executed if found guilty. South Carolina has the death penalty.

Hillary Insinuates Trump Is The Blame For Charleston Shootings

The campaign has gotten a bit hotter as Hillary Clinton took a swipe at GOP candidate Donald Trump over the Charleston, South Carolina shootings.

According to CBS News:
Hillary Clinton took a veiled swipe on Thursday at Donald Trump, calling recent inflammatory comments Trump made about Mexicans particularly inappropriate in light of the shooting in Charleston that claimed nine lives on Wednesday.
Trump, who rarely declines an invitation to a verbal food fight, fired right back, saying Clinton "just blamed me for the horrendous attack that took place in South Carolina."

Clinton said:
We have to speak out against it. Like for example, a recent entry into the Republican presidential campaign said some very inflammatory things about Mexicans. Everybody should stand up and say, 'That's not acceptable.'
In response, Trump said:
Wow, it's pretty pathetic that Hillary Clinton just blamed me for the horrendous attack that took place in South Carolina.

The Mystery of the Porcelain Godzillas

Above, the porcelain Godzilla figure I bought. Photo by Armand Vaquer.

I was contacted today by an owner of a porcelain Godzilla figure. They were aware that I have one and were wondering if I knew anything about them, such as who made them, where they were made, etc.

The email I received:

I came across your info when doing a Google search for Porcelain Godzillas.
I live in South Carolina with my husband who is also a Godzilla fan.
I recently purchased an identical porcelain figure to yours in a local antique store. However ours is painted blue & white like you would find on asian pottery/dishware. Very unusual!
We can not find any info on this piece! He has no stamps or markings.
We'd love to know if you have any info on when and where these were made?
I'll also send you a pick of him if you'd like!
Thanks! Any info would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, this has been a mystery to me ever since I bought mine around 2000 through eBay. From what I know of mine, it was part of someone's storage unit of goods that were auctioned off due to non-payment of storage rent. I received a second email that included this photo:

Above, the South Carolina Godzilla.

Soon after I bought mine, I contacted Toho in Los Angeles and they checked with the Tokyo office and they had no idea where it came from. To date, I know of three of these figures. They could be very rare items. Like hers, mine has no markings or stamps either.

If anyone knows about these, please feel free to post a comment.
