The Daily Yomiuri has posted an article on the status of tourism in the Tohoku region that was hit hard last year by the earthquake and tsunami. The article is entitled,
Tohoku tourism halfway to full recovery
In the article, they wrote:
Tourism in the Tohoku region is still only halfway to recovering to the levels seen before the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami.
Areas affected by the March 11, 2011, disaster have had difficulty rebuilding businesses as accommodation facilities and transportation systems have not been restored.
Tourism businesses in the disaster-hit areas face the need to urgently complete preparations for hosting tourists since the inflow of people will aid reconstruction.To read the full article, go here.
