Ultraman has fought monsters to the delight of audiences for nearly fifty years. He's now taking on another battle: Ultraviolet Rays (UV).
According to an article in The Mainichi, Ultraman volunteered his services as a one-day manager of a sunglasses store.
The article reads:
FUJIKAWAGUCHIKO, Yamanashi -- Ultraman: Japanese superhero, defender of the Earth ... and sunglasses salesman?
The red and silver-suited mainstay of Japanese TV and movies took on honorary manager duties at a temporary Fujiyama Jins sunglasses shop in front of Kawaguchiko Station here on Aug. 5, the shop's opening day. The store, housed in a refurbished Showa-era rail carriage, is just a short trip from Ultraman's base at the foot of Mount Fuji, presumably making for an easy commute. To read the full article and to see Ultraman in action in the store, go here.
