Suppose you are in Tokyo and you come down with an illness or have an accident that requires medical treatment. Where would you go and does the facility have English-speaking staff?
Personally, I've never had to make use of a Japanese medical clinic, but I do recall a member of 2004's G-Tour who came down with a sudden, and serious, illness while we were in Kamakura and had to be ambulanced to a hospital. Good thing he had the foresight to have travel insurance that covered his medical expenses.
